What's the best way of cleaning your waster reservoir?

I've just got a replacement as my sensor had stopped working and would like to give it a clean before it fit it.

Fill with a vinegar and water mix to loosen off any debris inside, then after leaving that to soak for a while, empty some out and add some uncooked rice and give it a good shake rattle and roll with the lid on. Empty tank of solution and every grain of rice. Good few rinses with clean water before fitting.

You can put a wee touch of washing powder in with the rice too.

I have to emphasise ..... All this should be done with the tank OFF the car and thoroughly flushed out to clear any washing powder, rice etc before you fit it to the car and begin to add your new coolant.

+1    submerged mine in a bleach solution ( in a bucket) over night  . . then next night in a bucket with 2 dissoved

dishwasher tablets

came up very well, not quite as white as a new one but very good result

It's already really clear, but there's quite a bit of residue in the bottom of the bottle. I just want to get it clean before fitting

But its taken you nearly 2 years, God, this dust get everywhere, cough,
