The problem actually starts in schools, where there is a lack of competitive and team sports, hence 10% of children go to public schools but 30% of the English Rugby team is made up from them. The same applies to many other sports, but football is not considered a gentleman's sport, so there is a lack of talented English players.
The players we have got are generally flattered by the foreign players around them when playing in the PL. The FA seem to be quite happy with 50 years of failure and change has got to start at the top. Disappointed with England as I expected them to at least take it to the final group game, before they failed to escape their group.
I think Woy is doing the best he can with the limited talent pool he has got.
When it comes to defending, unfortunately JT's self-destruction made it politically impossible for him to be selected.

The only time the FA will seriously try to improve things will be when support for England tails off and they can't fill Wembley, all the time they can, I can't see them worrying about us failing in some far off place every 2 years.

Personally, I've given up on England as to me sport is about winning and only for the participants not the spectators is it about the taking part.

If enough people do the same then the FA will have to act to restore the money stream.
