What surprised me about the 235/45/17 F1 Goodyears was how wide they were when compared to a 235/45/17 Michelin Primacy.

The Goodyears were about an inch wider..... :o :o :o. making me wonder if they would fit.

Luckily they did.....just. :y :y :y

That's why I had a bit of wheelarch rub under proper braking, or shoving it around bends a bit anxiously.

My size (on TBE) was 235/40/18 (need to check speed and loading rating).

I also run 235/45/17 which were on the rear of the Silver Bullet, and now on the front, I'll pass judgement properly when they're done, but so far (about half worn) my views are broadly similar :)

So are they likely to rub on standard 17's (235/45/17) on -30mm springs and -1d10o'clock camber?

Currently list goes as follows:-

Sport Contact 3 XL MO (notice they've dropped in price recently)
Sport MAXX RT
Eagle F1 Assym 2

Really not sure....

They don't appear to rub on the front of the Bullet :)

I naturally assumed that all 235 mm tyres were the same width........235 mm.

Apparently not. :-\

It's close but my Goodyears don't rub against the shocker. :y

Presumably standard MV6 (-15mm) suspension on your car sir?

Has the Geometry been set up on it recently - ie. is it running the same camber as I am?

I'd place these re grip level (on 18's)

Dunlop Sport maxx rt
Sc3 mo

F1 Asym 2 (little bit disappointed tbh, but only a little bit)

Very similar stability. But
Sc3 mo
F1 Asym 2
Dunlop Sport maxx Rt

On noise
Dunlop Sport maxx Rt
F1 Asym 2

Sc3 mo

Durability
Suspected as unproven, so pointless but
F1 Asym 2
Sc3 mo
Dunlop sport maxx rt
(Provided they are driven within their grip level)

Very very close on overall performance though. With the exception of Noisy sc3 mo. Slightly less grippy f1. Possibly less durable rt.

Hmmm, you reckon F1's will be more durable than SC3's?

Front my 18" F1, I got 14k, IIRC you get 20k from 18" SC3? I know I lack the motorway commute, but even so...

//edit to add, that was a question/thinking aloud...

As the text in brackets, Mr admin sir. ;D

Also, I have said several times that 20k was a miscalculation. I said I didn't believe it myself at the time to yourself and LD who was also present. I've repeated that on line as well.

The last set of sc3 mo lasted 16k on the front. Minimal centre tread wear, but the edges wear buggered. Showing patches in places, but not quite as buggered as the pics of yours. Iirc? So where replaced sooner is my pint there.
