As a serial offender that has not learn't the lessons from his previous bans, I think this one has been unduly lenient.

Seeing as it is South America, a tank, a few Piranhas and Suarez comes to mind as a cure. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Hmmn. Cantona gets a nine month ban for kicking racism out of football, Ferdinand gets eight months for skipping a drugs test. But they see fit to give Suarez a four month ban that starts well outside of the domestic season?

FIFA are so corrupt it's unreal. Jokers.

Was thinking two year ban.

Is it me or has the whole Brazil World Cup been way to lenient. Compared to what we see here in Europe at least. Seems to me they've let so many fouls go unpunished. Offences that would see a straight red in Europe.
The flip side is that euro footie (what used to be a contact sport) has turned into dramatics - get in the box, fall over, get a penalty. To me, that's putting me off the sport. Obviously, you can't have stamping, biting or punching, but a bit or argy bargy to get the ball seems fair to me.

As a nipper, how many games did you watch (either on the 3 channels, or at various grounds), how many penalties were awarded? It was "news" when one was, and always a topic of conversation at school on a Monday had one been awarded in the top 2 divisions. Now it seems every premiership game has at least one penalty :(

Or a string of penalties after a boring draw.

Listen Mary. ;D

I'm not getting into one side or the other. My point is, it's not consistent. Which covers all points and sides you care to mention. :P
