Depending on the actual ECU, you may need the old one. There are many variants of Stag 300, and to confuddle matters, some are software upgradable to the different variants, some are fixed to how they left the factory.

Well we got it working .. sort of ... eventually !!

Difficulty 1. It needed a driver for the modules - eventually found, downloaded and installed.
Difficulty 2. It needed v1.x.x.x software - eventually found, downloaded and installed
Difficulty 3. We didn't have a clue what we were doing with the software, and all we got were injector errors
Difficulty 4. We spotted all the injectors were unplugged - corrected, errors went but still wouldn't switch to LPG
Difficulty 5. See Difficulty 3 part 1. :)
Difficulty 6. After a whole load of playing with settings (at random) it suddenly went into LPG mode :)

On a now serious note ... it was then possible to work out what each setting actually did - learning as we went. It was running on LPG but had a definite hesitation/misfire, after a while 2 injectors on the passenger bank stopped working, and it ran rough on petrol as well. Check the codes (emissions light apparently removed !!) and misfires for that bank stored (I'm guessing the ECU shut down the bad cylinders). Once cleared it ran fine on petrol. Switch to LPG and initially runs sweetly, but after a minute or so the roughness appears.....

When running we noted that the injector timings for banks 1 & 2 were surprisingly different ... bank 1 around 2.7mS per injector, bank 2 around 4.3mS per injector

We noticed that the lambda figures for L1 & L2 in the LPG software were both identical at 0.34V and didn't change at all. Checking the Lambda voltages with the reader there was a MARKED difference between Bank1 at 0.8V and Bank2 at 0.04V running on LPG .. running on petrol they are about the same. Switch to LPG and after a few seconds they change to a big split and the roughness appears.

Suspicion is the Lambda wiring for the LPG ECU is wrong ???

Present plan is Joff will examine the wiring for anything obvious, otherwise he hopes to take it to the Oxford meet where (if possible) a tech2 will give better live data, and someone who knows what they are doing can look at the settings. I'll take the laptop and TB's cable so it can be plugged in......

Question is .. have we missed anything obvious ??? (other than the injectors being unplugged ... DOH!!!)

Excellent progress. At least you are able to see what is going on now. :y

Is it one of the later Stag ECUs that supports self-mapping (and if so, have you tried turning self mapping off)?

Other than that, the Stag ECU doesn't use the Lambda sensor inputs, they are just there for information.

You can switch individual cylinders back to petrol by clicking on their symbols at the bottom right of the screen. Can you use this to isolate a troublesome cylinder that's causing the fuel trims to diverge?

Need to fix the eml so you can pedal trick the codes at the very least for on going diags.  Or get a code reader on it, you'll get missfires codes, as the ecu shuts down each pot as E says. Re start and it re sets.

So at a guess, misfires caused by poor fueling, caused by incorrect nozel size or wrong or failing injectors on gas.

It needs setting up basickly. Fuel trim errors would confirm that? Hopefully.

I can bring my lapy and to Oxford for a fiddle ;) if you like. :)
