What would you like us to do? Every newbie who comes on introduce our selves :)

Could go something like this.....
(In the style of a AA meeting)

Hi my names Ian and I've been an omega owner for 5 years now.(long pause)

I had my last drive in it 5 days ago and I haven't had a drive since cause the crank sensor is knackered. (sits down round of applause)

Newbie Welcome posts autolock after a set time to prevent someone coming on and doing a "welcome" to the last 250 newbies and gaining selling rights without actually doing anything for the community !!

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90684.0 sort of explains it for the old software ... the new software appears to do more .. :)

But I have to say you can't expect to stand on your soap box and cry foul to all and sundry, when all here have tried to help with your top end issues and been completely ignored. Why would people bother after that?
Please enlighten me as to who the 'all' are??? Anyone who has tried to help I have been courteous, polite and patient with.  Unlike some I ask in a manner that I hope portrays just how grateful I am for any help. Rather than demand as some do... But your observation does beg the question... 'How do you know'..???  :-\

There is an element of grumpy ness, to your posts that doesn't inspire a conversation. So cheer up ya grumpy bugger
Rather than what exactly, 'Total tosh and adolescent drivel'???

But the main thrust of my post was concerning the Welcoming of Newbies, or rather the lack of it... Looking back a couple of years many more members managed to post a welcome.
An Example of MY GRUMPY POSTS.
1)Can't argue with that...  ;D
2)Trundling around the A46 minding my own business on the way to Hemswell Cliff at a steady 60 - 65 when suddenly there's one of those bl**dy Audi repmobiles stuck up my chuff. 'Aha' thought I, almost onto the dual carriageway, just press that little button on top of the stick, and 'gun it' off of the roundabout. Give that blooming 2ltr diesel a faceful of dust... Wait for it... Wait. O.K. Shove the 'loud pedal'... "ROOOAAAARRRR"...... As I get left sitting red faced with what appears to be half the population of Lincolnshire peering out of their cars at ME. Took a quick look at the back of the Audi, 'HuH'? That doesn't say 2 L diesel... it says.......RS4... Damn...  :-[ :o
3)Got my renewal quote through on Saturday, £180 fully comp, which I thought was good. This morning via e-mail from one of those well known comparison sites....

Car Line Direct
✔ Courtesy car included
✔ Windscreen cover included ......................£118.83

RIAS
✔ Courtesy car included
✔ Windscreen cover included.....................£125.99

RAC
✔ Legal cover included
✔ Courtesy car included
✔ Windscreen cover included....................£147.41

All very interesting but going to look at a 2007. Saab 9-3. 2.8T Aero today, that'll scupper those quotes..  :-\

4)Traffic in Lincoln at a standstill this morning, tremendous amount of cars heading for the Waddington show, I hope the weather clears for them all, as well as me. Being an Omega owner I'm 'careful' with money, and live just 3 miles from the airfield, so am hoping for clearer skies to get a 'free show'. The Saab Draken kicked it off nicely yesterday...  :y

5)So amusing to listen to a ' victim's family spokesperson' on the news this morning. 'I am sure eventually my sister will tell her story. p..a..u..s..e.. through the proper channels'.. 'HuH'!! What are they then, 'a bidding war between daily rags'??
6)Sadly Gerry Goffin has passed away. Along with ex wife Carole penned much musical pleasure.. R.I.P. Gerry. :(
7)It's my first 'fag free' day today... :-\ :-\ Well done all who have succeeded, if I manage it I might be able to afford to run a miggy??
8)I wonder what the Lib Dems positive spin will be after coming in sixth in the Newark by election?
9)We are all well aware of the risks in so many things, but the 'it won't happen to me' thoughts are always at play. :'(
10)So the Island claims yet another young life. R.I.P. Karl. :'(
11)While I agree with your point TB. Those jobs didn't just appear 2 years ago, someone has done them over the years. But as I'm sure after reading many posts on here, its a matter of, 'I aint bl**dy doing that for that wage'.

12)Just watching the local news and once again (grooooaaan) immigration is the main topic. What is really getting to pee me off is the standard chant of so many immigrants.. 'We will do the work the English won't do'.. When, oh when will someone ask.. 'So who the bl**dy hell did it before you came then'  ??? >:(
13)Moved to Lincoln November 2012.. It's cheaper 'ooop north'. Have to say, it is much cheaper for a great deal of things, couldn't have bought a shed in Bedford for what I paid for this place, but here is the conundrum. How come ALL the tradesmen charge every bit as much as they do 'darn sarf' Sympathising with Rog.. IF you can get one in the first place?? Our property is ringed by trees, no problem getting offers to have the trees seen to. Every other day there seems to be yet another tree specialist ringing our bell? They all stuff a screwed up flier in my hand, 'Oi cud gie ya a quote roit now boy'. They all climb back into the obligatory white transit and leave.
14)I don't know who will replace Moyes, and i'm about as interested as the 'man in the moon'.. But whoever it is I hope part of his contract stipulates that. 'All teams to play Man U, must put their desire to win the match, second to the manager's desire to 'hang on to his job'..
I suppose everyone working in the manufacturing industry who has a less than perfect manager, and is on a paltry wage (compared to the prima donna's in football) is covered for turning out 'shoddy work' this week, and every week in fact, and the manager will be dismissed as incompetent Mind you, should any machinist turn out a 'good piece of work', (what he is paid for.) I hope he will be able to run the length of the factory with his overalls over his head, and all other machinists jump on him bestowing hugs and kisses. FGS..
Well those above, one or two more and twenty five Welcome messages take me back to April 2014 just 59 total posts.  "Really Grumpy"??

Have I missed something?.......... :-[ :-[  What is all that about?.......... ::) ::)

I'm only 1367 post late, so welcome Newbie. :P :y :) :)

The majority of Newbie's tend to go to the Omega General Help with a specific problem and the vast majority say welcome before giving a reply. :y :y :y :y

I'm sure, like many, I've only visited the Newbie section a couple of times. ::) ::) ::) ::)

On the whole they are a pretty friendly bunch of here and we haven'y had a winter tyres bust up for ages. :o :o :o

[thinking out loud]It's a bit quiet on here at the moment. Is it time to start a new winter tyre thread? :-X :P ::) ;)[/thinking out loud] ;D ;D ;D
