Guys,
Any idea how to get from my omega the security wheel nut off?
I didn't get one with the car but want to respray the alloys.
I have some mates with vauxhall but they all have different ones.
I don't want to spend loads of penny's because once of I throw them as far as I can.
Usualy they getting lost so no need for them as this only gets expensive.
I rather replace them with standart bolts.

It's just how and where to get them off cheap and easy?

Ask nicely at ATS (when they're not busy) ......

Which is what ATS used on mine after the halfwit at Kwikfit snapped one of the pegs from the older style locking bolts 'key'

If Vauxhall nuts, go to local dealer they will have masters to remove.

I wonder how it works. Appears to have an internal thread, and in black steel impact wrench material. Wheel nuts can be jolly tight. I have read here in the past that the only solution is to weld a 32mm rod to it. Please enlighten me.

If it really does work it makes the locking nuts pointless - every thief would carry one.

It works on the same principle as an Easyout ...... obviously externally rather than internally. ATS used one in conjuntion with a windy gun ...... not sure how effective they would be using a breaker bar/similar

Get local tyre shop to chisel them off.

All 4 of mine came off in about 2 mins and replaced with standard nuts

Well, when i say chiselled.... he made a groove in the side and then ''tapped'' it round

My recollection of the security bolts is of a steel loose ring around the outside, but a coded three hole pattern in the end, in which the special tool fitted. It would have been necessary to remove the outer ring before the special Sealey tool would have anything worth gripping. On an alloy wheel the security bolts sit deep in tunnels, not permitting easy removal of the steel ring. You say tyre shops do it in seconds. I still wonder how.

The  floating ring on the original 3 hole bolts was apparently slim enough to deform wen using the nut remover, tough I made a slim chisel to remove them on mine before I went back to ATS. The floating ring on the later biscuit cutter type is a lot more substantial
