2.2 petrol cam sensor
« on: 11 September 2014, 08:40:02 »

My EML keeps coming on and it's getting difficult to start. I have diagnosed on my maxiscan that it is cam sensor. Now question is has anyone had any success with slightly cheaper cam sensors? Only I called Vauxhall the other day and I refuse to pay £72+Vat for it as money's a it tight at the moment. I'm not talking £10 ones on eBay I'm talking around £30-£50 mark from motor factors.

Sorry if this will start a debate :)

With sensors, it's generally cheaper to buy the Vauxhall one first and only, than to by A N Other only to have to buy the Vauxhall one anyways shortly after :y

Any sensors on ebay will almost certainly be pants, regardless of price or source... you have been warned :-X

A short term stop gap would be to buy a working second hand genuine one, either from a breaker here, or from Steve at Omega Spare Parts... then save up for a new Vauxhall one :-\

Ian, give this guy a call or e-mail, he is from Evans Halshaw Main Dealers in Edinburgh. I can't guarantee they still have asny in stock, but worth a try at this price? I bought one from him via Carpartsconnection last week & his price was, Quote :"We can supply this part to you for £55 inc vat and delivery. RRP is £86.40"   :y
