A miggy is a miggy regardless of condition .. and an interest in miggy's is all that is needed I believe ..  (OK .. an interest in beer and talking rubbish might help as well ...  )

Condition is the last thing you should be worried about.  ;)

I guess any talk of breathers and HBV's should only be undertaken after a couple of beers then!

Don't be daft, and what he just said.
Blimey, you have a 3.0l and I have to go to the lakes in a 2.0l without fog lamps, all oofer pics seem to have fog lamps in them :( :( :( Unless I go in the Citroen ;D ;D ;D
my car has them retrofitted by previous owner. They arnt Vx standard ones, being moved to the center section of the fornt bumper, slightly hidden below the number plate. IMO they look better like this.

Bit like mine then - some very slim ones just under the numberplate.  Not sure i like the look of them, but they do the job well enough!

It's sounding like a car meet already except i'll be in my own bed tonight...rather than in a tent in a field...consumption of alcohol is about the same  :y

Take this from the worlds worst valet tart. From a distance my car looks peachy but walk round it & you'll see stonechips, scratches, rusty door tops & more mess than the car's worth, so don't let that stop you. Many of our Migs are working/family everyday vehicles.
In my book anyone keeping any model of Mig on the road will do for me.
P.S. Mine was in last years Lakesmeet photo with the foglights on..........can't miss it, i was the one with only one working!!!!! :D

OK..

here's a confession..

my obsession is always a shiny paint..Dont know from where I catch

this sickness it really disturbs and damages me..Washing the car 4-5

times a week..And polishing as frequently as I can  ;D

Trust me theres nothing to worry about the cars condition..

if you were like me you must worry about yourself  :P :-[

I,ve been involved on this forum for quite a while now and really enjoy all  the great wealth of knowledge and help that is forthcoming about the Omega's. As well as all of the brilliant banter and comments on "General chat"

But I feel a bit unsure about getting involved  in the "meets" that are coming up as I am not sure that my own Omega is in good enough condition to attend these meetings. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

In my present financial position :-[ :-[, I am unable to throw a shed load of money at my car in order to get it into "Pristine" condition.

While it is maintained very well mechanics wise, it does suffer from the dreaded rust along the door tops and bottoms. (Although this is now attempting to be sorted)

I am raising this point as when I attended the  recent WIM open day, my Omega did seem to be the only one that was not in tip top condition.

I was just wondering if this matters and the real enjoyment of "meets" for me would be the getting together, socialising and being part of  it and the forum.

My "Miggy" is never gonna win any sort of show or award, but it's a great car and with it I feel I can be part of this thing.

Just wondered if others on here have similar thoughts.

All comments  greatly appriciated.

Regards,  Big  Al :y :y :y

I

Al, no-one cares about if someone Miggy is not in tip top condition mate, you have one.
These meets are a brilliant way of extending the fun of The Forum, meeting people that you chat to on here, putting names to faces.
It will be great to see anyone from the forum at the meets, i am sure everyone agrees... :y

Big Al there is not a lot to be added to what has already been said, all of which I agree entirely with! :y

All I can add is that I have enjoyed cars that have been brand new, but I have also had cars with holes in them all over.  Indeed my last car after a run of big Vx's was a 19 year old Toyota Carina II Estate, on 250K, which I had kept running for 6 years, and that had dents, scrapes, rust patches all over (a 200 yard car!), but I was still as proud of my "Betsie" as I had been with any other of my cars! :y

It is the personality of the person inside the car that counts, not the car itself, and that's how you should view the situation at any meet.  Nothing else has sod all to do with the price of fish! ;) ;)

Some good response here from you OOFers. :y :y :y

Guess I was getting  a bit worried over nothing really.

My thoughts on meets have always been "it's about the people  & the socialising"  so glad a lot of you all feel the same.

Guess I'll be attending soon then.

Sorry ,can't the Lakes meet  - but what ever comes up next, I'll try and be there.

Regards, Al :y :y :y

A 200 yarder Lizzie,  I wouldn't be able see at all at that distance with my eyes! ;D ;D ;D
