Flat Battery, now immobiliser problems.....
« on: 05 October 2014, 18:30:03 »

Hey Guys.

Flattened the battery while parked up, now with jump leads she turns over but wont fire.
The spanner is flashing, have tried both keys, lock unlock etc. No joy. Car is stranded 2 miles from the house.
Help!

Check the transponder is still in the key.

Has any mongrel been near it with a dodgy code reader, particular around programming?

If the spanner is flashing you have an immobiliser issue. As you've tried both keys (nb. Lock / Unlock is a feature of the fob, the immobiliser chip is in the key) try taking the cowling off the steering column and give the connection on the box mounted under the steering column a wiggle.

The transponders are still in both keys. No code readers, and the box have just wiggled the box under the column.
Its almost as if the ecu has wiped the keys from it, somehow...

Just to add, once you get the Imob. light flashing , you have to go through a total reset before it will start again, ie Key out, open / shut door, lock unlock car etc, then try again.

ie, try to start with a faulty key, wont start, try again with a good key, still wont start, need to do above reset before the good key will start it,  ;)

Is the Flashing Spanner light (think its the spanner and not the EML on DBW) flashing at a constant flash rate? or is it flashing intermittently?

Ok, will go and try that procedure. The spanner flashes at a constant rate....
