I don't think that's man enough, but I'll let those that are actually any good at spraying comment. But definitely hold off the Buy button until they do, as I think you'll be disappointed with that one.

Will do , there are a few that include the spray gun kits / blowers ect so just presuming they are good enough but will see what folk say  :-\

Start by looking for something with circa 14cfm if you can, this will be a 3Hp unit but will also be more expensive.

A rough priority order for me would be:

High CFM rating (14cfm ideally)
High HP rating (e.g. 3 which is most you can run of a 13A supply and will go with the CFM requirement)
Tank size - 50 minimum (if the CFM rating is high then the tank does not need to be so big)
Belt drive - generally more efficient so gives higher pressurised air displacement.

A key thing is, are you going to be spraying panels or a whole car. If a whole car then you need a quality spray gun, 100 litre tank and at the biggest compressor you can get. If just panels then a 50 litre tank will give enough stored air to complete the job with a reasonable HVLP gun (which generally operate at circa 50psi) and a smaller rated compressor will do.

That one looks identical to mine - different make but I bet they're all made in the same factory in China..

I haven't tried spraying so I can't comment on that, but it fills the tank fairly quickly and drives the windy gun, ratchet, grinder etc alright for almost every job I've done (besides taking the 32mm wishbone pivot bolts out of the back of a Jag diff which have a cone-shaped seat and took two of us and a 1m jack handle on the breaker bar to get undone ;D)

Yeah - it'd be no good in a workshop, for sure ;D But it does alright for the air saw, die grinder etc at home.. although the blades that came with my air saw are a bit … cheap … and tend to heat the metal up more than they cut it ;D

Belt drive would be better, Emd, if you can afford a step up to one rather than a direct drive twin cylinder for the benefits that Mark listed above :y

Really must plumb mine back in - I miss it every time I have to take the wheels off something (yeah, I'm that lazy ;D and have a set of torque-limiting sockets for putting the bolts back in, too)

Look at my link above it has a 90ltr tank and 14cfm £199 :y the 7.5 won't be enough, :y My old compressor was a 13.5 and only 50ltr tank and it was good enough to spray half of a car at any time so bonnet and side and then boot and other side also could do roof at the same time if I was lucky so for what you want it will be more than ample  :y :y :y you don't need an expensive one like some here say.  :-X

Missed that link - mine is the same make (WolfAir) but 50L 13.5cfm same as your old one - no problems with reliability so I wouldn't hesitate to get the bigger one you linked to for sure.

A spray painting gun will be no good for spraying fence panels IME. It will go everywhere but on the fence. Better to use a garden sprayer / killaspray type device.
