Do yourself a favour and get a "sniffer test" done on the coolant.

I have very similar symptoms to yours, misfire randomly on startup, but only when left all day or all night. Would normally clear within a couple of seconds. No real water loss or anythings, plugs looked good. I swapped plugs, leads and coil pack between my X20XEV and my Cavalier with the same engine, nothing cured it. Would disappear for a day maybe, then return. In the end, I took it into work on evening and the sniffer went blue/green almost instantly.

That was a month ago, the car is now sitting on the drive with the cylinder head having been welded up due to corrosion due to the head going porous and letting the headgasket go.

Mine has a coolant leak beside all those symptoms. About 0.5 l/1000km - haven't found the leak yet and it's not a HBV. Thanks Iansoutham
