Yes, sorry to hear that. On the plus side she had a good innings in a good environment.

It must be a very hard decision to make.

Very sorry for you Vamps. I can clearly remember the day I had to put our beloved Cairn (19.5) down, but not the day my mother died! Mind you, I didn't have her put down. :y

As all pet owners know, we get ridiculously attached to our pets, which always makes it hard when the fateful day arrives. It is like losing a family member.

Your spot on there TB

Mike, sounds like she had one hell of a good innings and a great life.

Bottom line is she isn't suffering now and you and your lot have lots of great memories

Sorry for your loss  :(

I'm really sorry to hear of your Labs passing Mike :'(
We take them for granted when they're here but they leave a bloody great hole in your heart when they go!
Take comfort in knowing you gave her a loving, caring home and each gave the other some of the best times of your lives :(

How is Miss Vamps taking it?

Not very well at all................ :( :( She has had a good cry and is presenting well, but hiding behind modern day communication I keep getting links to Border Collie Pups, with 'reasoned argument' We can not have a puppy, we both work full time so no good for a puppy and despite what Miss Vamps thinks Granddad will not look after it through the day..... ::) ::) ;) :(

Dont give in, Mike. My wife and son pestered me for our westie for years, promised thatthey would take care of any vets visits, take her for long walks on evenings and weekends and all I would have to do was a short walk during the day and feed her.
Well guess what.? I have to plan my bleeding day around something I didn't even want now. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but she's a pain in the arse some days.

The dog is ok though. ;D
