After my thread a yr ago about headlights on my 20i 16v, and the great help i received about cleaning and using osram day breakers.. they were alot lot better.. after this yrs mot ,and a few marks against the headlights, i thought i would invest in some new ones..i bought some Depo aftermaket ones, fitted brill,earth lug was bit weak. but all in all look brill.- had them set up sat at my local garage,, and basicly iam very disaapointed in them- high beam is fine.. but dip- worse than old lights.. nothing 3mtrs in front of car- like i"ve got no lights on driving under street lights.. i no you get wot you pay for.. i just thought these would help alot to have a unmarked and grubby lense.. Anyone else purchased these??

I have a set of their xenon ones on mine... took some fettling to fit the ballast packs to, but haven't really used the car at night, so unsure how they perform, but should be spot on due to new bulbs

If you're that unhappy and still have your old lights, you can simply swap the lenses from the new lights to the old units That should give you the best of both

They can be, especially when raining.

Make sure your Windscreen is spotless inside and out.  For the outside, use a treatment such as Rain-X Rain repellent, and for the inside use a decent anti-fog treatment (I use Rain-X for that too, but there are cheaper ones available).

The glare of the bright light hitting an imperfect glass surface can be terrible!

Nope, you're not, the lights of some new cars are just horrible  New MBs, Skodas and Audis are the worst IMO, hate driving at night because of them. Not too fond on getting flashbanged all the time

I'm starting to flash main beams at oncoming cars at night with their main beam (and foglights, we all know them  ) it's not a nice idea, destroying another driver's night vision, just because they've ruined mine, but if enough people did it, maybe these morons who haven't figured out that fog lights are for when it's foggy will slowly start to learn...

alot of these new cars -lights are to bright as has been said.. are they not set up right, or is it a number of factors.. but seems to be everywere.. not good..  and why people find it hard to use fog lights correctly is behond me..  add one other week going to work - yes was foggy -but long range vision was good, got behind this car and it put its rear fogs on...was not happy. lol

Something not right here for the op. I've had depo's with night breakers on my old cdx and they where a marked improvement on the old lights. ( non hid car )


Although another thumbs up for rain-x.

To add, the depo's where an insurance repair fitment. I argued they where not fit for purpose as they have no light beam adjustment for continental driving, iirc.

Genuine ones where then fitted, and there was hardly any differance in the actual light beam on the road.
