Just clean it up with a bit of green scouring pad and some brake cleaner then apply a thin film of gasket sealant to both surfaces.
Wait for it to go off a little then bolt it all back together  :y :y
I used some Loctite stuff for both my gearbox and engine sump with no problems  :y

They don't have one... Camcover goo on a nice clean surface as above :y

Don't forget there are two halves to the sump, upper and lower, and engine needs lifting about three inches to remove the upper half...

Nope, just the lower steal pan needs to come off to get to the strainer.

Upper half often leaks though so if your feeling energetic, do both. Although... you'll need an engine crane to lift the engine to give clearance to do the upper half.

Check if it's actually leaking first, perhaps?
