And all variants at that age (VW/SEAT/Ford) rot well, particularly front chassis rails and then everything else follows.....

Agree with all that lot but if you really want one, hunt down the SEAT version which are a hell of alot cheeper and tend to have a better spec.
Also, iirc they put the 1.8 turbo under the bonnet which after a new ecu chip will be just as fast as the V6 and better on fuel  ;)

If you can find one :-\ about 95% were diesel...

Facelifted Seat would be my pick of a bad bunch... if you want a big car plenty of better choices, if you simply need seats, buy a Transit minibus imho :y

Back to the drawing board then , although I do like the Zafira . Finding a decent one will be hard , or at least one that's not been abused  ::)
Frontera 3.2 would be another option if one came up near .

Why do you need/want summat else, besides simply preserving the MV6?

A sensible, honest appraisal of your requirements will enable sensible suggestions to be made :y

The mv will stay till an assessment is made on what it will need for the mot in June . Meanwhile I'm looking at something more accessible for long term needs for personal and family reasons . I've got long enough to look for something so hope something turns up  :(

Everyone I've met with a Galaxy has moaned about the fuel consumption, and that has been mostly the smaller engined variants. They moan about that before the rust, so it must be bad!

Ok, I'd suggest an Omega estate or a Vectra C 1.8 petrol estate if you need five seats and a good size boot, and I'll stand by the Transit if you need more seats as it provides luggage space to match... long wheel base bus, any model and remove the back six seats if smiley face and the rear 9 seats if the newer 17seater. Low roof one will comfortably fit in a multi story, but only good as a six seater if you need a decent boot for wheel chair/scooter purposes :y

Agree with that
CliffoB has plenty of room in the back of his estate for his beloved's scooter and that was with the floor raised to accommodate the LPG donut tank  :y

Do like the omega estates but i think i need an easier seat to get in and out of compared to the mv6 bolster seats , the mv seats have been the most comfiest so far but awkward to get in and out of . maybe normal leather would be better now as more slidy  :-\ An old saying years ago was stick to what you know best .... so  :-\

Omega Elite seats are easily in the top five most comfortable of all the cars I have driven...

The others being Mk2 Granada Ghia X electric velour, Mk3 Granada Scorpio leather, Mercedes W116 S class and finally the Mercedes W140 S class.

The key point being fully electric adjustment and decent lumbar support :y

I suppose the easiest/cheapest thing to do would be to get some leather seats fitted to mine if thats possible of course  :-\ But seeing how cheap the omegas are possibly just buy another car . Mv is lower sill height of them all i guess so thats not helping .
