Vauxhall has a new oil filter
« on: 03 July 2008, 16:23:12 »

Went to my local Vauxhall yesterday for an oil filter.

They now do a long-life oil filter?

P/no 93178952 £2.98 on ABS £1.90.

Not put on as yet, slightly smaller than 93156954 and a lot heaver.

Anybody tryed this new filter?

Interesting. Would you not have to change it with the oil change? Surley that sounds a bit simple??  :P

Just how long does oil last for?

How long does the filter last for?

Mmmmm?

When you chang the oil you would change the filter at the same time?

I don't always change filters, esp if doing short oil changes.  Though I never allow a filter to go beyond 5k

Personally I would not change one without the other. I change at 3500 myself. But that is just my personal choice.

I can say that I would buy a long life filter. Not unless they offer me something impressive.

Might be ok for some peps that are a bit... dubious with their oil changes. Although I fail to see how it would offer much more of a longer life if the oil was knackerd anyway.

See the oil post by an oil expert... makes for good... if a bit technical at times reading  :y

What colour is the oil coming out, and how smooth does it feel?

I aim for 3-4k myself in MV6, 3k max in tractor.
