Yes I was thinking a heat shield, but it sounds like something quite substantial rattling.  :-\  I need to have a proper look really.  ::)

Well in that case.....if anyone is interested,I have 2 sets of 3.2 cats and 1 set of 3.0 cats, would probably suit someone who is going to relocate their Lambda sensors to eliminate the EML,would give you a chance to do them on a bench at your leisure. No charge/no posting....collection only.Frigg me about and I'll set my missus on you,and anyone who has had a bollicking previously will know it ain't a pleasure.....except for Terbs and Mark who for some weird reason seem to like it :-X :y

Speaks volumes that a used original Omega cat could have a scrap value of £60-100 due to the precious metal inside but any pattern cat will be worth just £1-2, utter sh*te !

I have tried to get the local scrappy to take these cats which are VX items and they are only interested in diseasal cats,so hence me giving these away. And in all honesty if no one wants them I'll cut them up and take them to the local tip PDQ....not going to hoard stuff that will never get used ::)

Fit the 3.0 ones James... :y

That's what I'm thinking, and mount the second lambda behind the main cat to ward off the efficiency codes. This would be an excellent upgrade as mine are not in the best shape. I will wait to hear from ken :y

Can not believe the timing....Was driving home after dropping the boys off and all of a sudden I hear a noise up front think what the  is that.  Get home and part of what looks to be a heat shield has dropped off and scraping on the floor.  How the hell do I sort this out then ??? can you get hold of new parts or is this a new/second hand cat job ???

I add the car still runs o.k just like op has stated its now a bit raspy.

Large stainless jubilee clips will do the job as a temporary bodge repair :y

Blimey, if that's the case I will definitely break my 3.2 rather than trying to sell it or ditch it in one piece to the scrappy.
