Shammy dry.
Clay bar and detailer.

(Once imaculately clean)

Polish. G3, Megs scratchx2, auto glym equivelant forget the name, with orbital polisher.
Wax.

Basic process will remove 90% of laquer only scratches. There's a thread on here of my replacement door that was in similar condition, with similar results.

It does work, but don't believe it's specific to one product there's several, that it will remove ALL scratches, as it won't if too deep , and the prep is vital or you'll make it worse.

Those aren't really scratches in the truest sense of the word, they're more like marks. If that makes any sense at all.

Clay bar is literally a lump of clay. Usually two. Supplied like a trinket in a sealed box, but to keep it clean. It's used to draw sharp particles out of the paintwork that would otherwise break away under the polisher pad and cause more scratches.

So once the area to be worked on is cleaned and dried, if you gently run your hand accross the paint you'll feel shape raised particles like bits of sand. Spray the detailer (soapy water, or lube basically) on the area and rub the clay bar over the paint, it will remove the sharp particles and absorb them into the clay in a way that doesn't cause scratches. Turn the clay regular. Cover the hole area, but never let the paint go dry or the clay will stick and mark.

Once done and dried, run your hand over again and you'll feel the sharps have gone. Usually. Sometimes lumps of tah and othe contaminants remain. There's other things like iron x for these but I've not used it.

The end result of clay bar is hopefully a perfectly clean paint surface that won't leave particles to scratch unde the polisher pad.

If you drop the clay bar, bin it. It will pick up bits of gravel and scratch the car. Cleanlines is next to detailing godliness.

Wash nope, could introduce impurities. Once clayed it's as clean as it gets.

Jet wash or hose. To remove gravel and grit that will scratch under the sponge.

Wash with two buckets. One to rinse sponge, tother for clean water with car shampoo for actual washing. I use a differant sponge again for lower panels bellow the bumps strips.

Shamy dry.

Clay bar with detailer.

Polish. G3 or whatever polish you prefer.

(Can wash again if you wish to remove polish residue in seems etc)

Wax.

It's MUCH easier to do a panel at a time, or you need more than a day to do the job fist time out.

Re power tool, an orbital buffer, I found, is minimal requirement, as your arms will both fall off.

I have used those coloured polishes with some success in the past for light scratches around the door handle, if you don't want to go the whole claybar thing.........

Before i fitted this bumper Today i washed it and Gave it a Quick rub over with this stuff...And thought..Thats Nice Why not do the whole car  . But its hard work on Them little Scratches.
Which got me searching on the net and thats why i done this thread 
Bumper clearly stands out from the Rest I think..But product is Limited

All well and good but the coloured wax washes off very quickly and the hidden blemishes fast re-appear sadly
