Let's hope all goes well with it . I'll post pics when I pick it up next week. I know it's not omega but I'll stay on here for advice from you all .

the 2.2 direct is timing chain and need to be replaced if it rattles...but if oils changes are kept upto date should be ok :y

no does NOT need changing unless it is rattling whole idea of a chain as opposed to a belt:y

Famous for the chains snapping on these i'm afraid. Worst engine VX have ever done. Got 3 friends who had these previously, of which 2 had snapped chains. The last got rid of his soon after. One even had his dealer serviced and asked about the chain at 3 years old to be told they weren't a problem and it would be changed as per VX servicing. 2 weeks later the chain snapped and had to have a new engine. As a member of Vectra Sport back in the day with the wife owning a veccy, they were avoided like the plague.

Isnt there a modification that can be done to prevent the oil feed blocking up that supplies the oil to the chain?

Slightly off topic, but there's a 56 plate Vectra advertised for sale near me that is said to be a 3.0L diesel.I didn't know VX had done such a big diesel.
