No dash lights
« on: 05 June 2015, 09:53:32 »

Following on from my earlier post regarding no dash lights when headlights turned on i suspect I have knackered the switch.

Can anyone tell me if the Vectra B switch that looks the same will fit and do I need to check any particular part numbers for compatibility. I remember reading on here somewhere about the "lights left on warning" being incorporated into some switches????

Any help appreciated and if anyone has one for sale please let me know

Thanks

Dave

Not sure if this has been mentioned in another post but you probably need to confirm which switch you have - I'm guessing you have non-Xenon car, and therefore the little wheel for adjusting headlamp level?  :)

Thanks for the reply

Yeah, Its a 2002 CD, with the little wheel to adjust headlights.

Ive checked the wheel isn't dimming the internal lighting and all the usual obvious things.

Ok. Well in theory, then that's a very very common switch, as it's the same (happy to be contradicted?) as all Omegas until the introduction of Xenons, and even then only on Elite models, and then CDX and Elite as of the facelift cars. Assuming that the front fogs switch just plugs in, for those models not equipped with front fogs - but it may be a different witch, too.

Only other difference I can think of is that PFL cars would have jet black, wheras FLs went to a very very dark grey colour. If no-one's found you one as of tonight, I might be off scrappying tomorrow, and see if I can pick you one up.  :) (If i get one it will be off a FL with fogs, by the way!)

Thanks DBG

I'll see what comes up today and let you know. The one with the fog lights is the one I'll be after but only from a facelift to match the colour please

Cheers
