Limp mode.... won't change gear...
« on: 05 August 2015, 03:44:08 »

Hiya folx

So my car is a 1998 Omega-b that for some reason will not change gear. I get the 19 incorrect rpm signal error code when i connect it to the OBD2 tool.
the sensor was changed today but nothing changed. the car will drive but only in 1'st gear, in addition it clips out if you rev it past 4300 RPM. It does appear to change gear but simply just revs up when i put it in D, if i manually put it in 1 it will drive. then when i go for 2 it just doesn't want to move forward, if i then quickly change to 3'rd and keep it stable at 3400 RPM it will maintain my current speed.

Any help would be appreciated  :D

If still getting a 19 code, crank sensor still faulty. Did you get it directly from Opel?

I would look for a used automatic transmission. Could try to change the transmission fluid but if its slipping that much i would not give it much hope. Used automatic transmissions are cheap in norway since everyone wants manual boxes. But you really need to find out what engine you have. Oh and as said by the others, the crank sensor still probably has an issue.
