Hi all I'm getting a funny clicking noise which seems like it is coming from behind the ashtray it's everytime I press the brake pedal it clicks  any ideas what this could be ?  Thanks

No, it's normal. If it bothers you, then pull up the gearlever gaiter and wrap the solenoid in foam to mask the noise.

Ahhhh magic easier than I thought then thankyou for the fast response guys. Just the airbag light to sort out next then done lol

Any idea how to lift the trim up around the automatic lever please I've looked for a different thread but can't find anything

The 'leather' gaiter just pulls up if you get your fingers under the back end and pull. This will give you some access to damp the solenoid if that's what you're trying to do.
Removing the 'wood' trim makes a lot more room, but requires a lot more dismantling.

Gear surround pulls up at the back and then unhooks from the front... :y

If that doesn't work, I must have remembered it arse backwards, to try tother way ;D

Definitely lifts up at the rear edge of the plastic surround  :y - I had mine out at the weekend.

Cheers guys and after pressing it today your right it is coming from underneath the automatic shift so ull have it out tomorrow

Why? It's working as it should. You should worry if it does NOT click as you'll not be able to get the car out of park  :y

Bugger cheers for that andy lol altho yea I agree it's working as it should my poor grammer and spelling isn't helping lol. I ment to say I was going to try and pad it so it wouldn't be so noisy when braking I'd love to say I can deal with it but sadly the ocd in me won't allow it :(

It should only click when the car is in park, in normal use on the road there shouldn't be a click  ;)

It should only click when the car is in park, in normal use on the road there shouldn't be a click  ;)
It's been a while since I've driven an auto Omega regularly, but sure that it clicks every time you press the pedal...:-\

Yup everytime the pedal is pressed I hear the 1 click
