whats that " beeping"
« on: 07 October 2015, 04:38:01 »

I hear when I take my key out? 4 or 5 beeps in quick succession before I've even got out the car and locked it.. Impossible to describe the pitch of the noise in words but sounds like a bird chirping I spose....

Power sounder batteries on their last legs. Remove it. Sooner than later... :y

So more than just pulling a fuse out then? Where does it live and what's the method of disconnecting it?

Sod it... I took the scuttle off the other week to reseal it to save new dis pack getting wet.. Looking at the " how to" why ( after disconnecting power sounder) would I need to refit it? Cant I sling it in the bin?

You can disconnect & remove the PS  without completly removing the scuttle. I  did one on the silver 3.2 last week .

I removed drivers side wiper arm , the one torx screw on drivers side & the first 2 or 3 scuttle clips on that  side.

Scuttle will then lift enough to be able to get to the 10mm nut that holds the PS in place. Just undo it a few turns & the it

will lift off upwards & out. ( I did not try to  fit a replacement  PS with  this method though as only removed mine)

Disconnect electrical connector & wrap with insulation tape if you are not fitting a new one .

As for the old PS  . . . Don't just bin it  . . . see maintenance guide as to why  ;) ;)  HTH

If you go to the Wycombe meet on Saturday  . . . no doubt someone will remove it for you  . .  even if it's me   ;D ;D

EDIT: Ah   . .  just noticed  . . . unlikely you will  be going to Wycombe as you live in North Wales ::) ::)
