Omega wheel ID guide ?
« on: 12 October 2015, 21:52:55 »

Not sure how this will be received or even if it's in the right section but  . . .

I was searching the forum for an Omega "wheel ID guide" & could not find anything comprehensive. . . .so .  .

Just a thought  . . .& after seeing Terberts photos of wheels from the Wycombe meet. I thought maybe an Oofer who has

both the knowledge & a bit of time , could compile a guide of all the different types of wheels, with name/model  fitted to

the Omega through it's history .

I can identify most of them on sight , but many members may not be able to. It would also help when buying an Omega of

a certain year & model ,to know what wheels it came with originally.

Gonna be bit time consuming for someone to search out all the photos of these , but I'm sure it would be a worthwhile

addition to the Maintenance guide or FAQ section  :-\ :-\

As I sadly do not have the PC skills to do this myself  . .  :-[ :-[    Anyone up for it ?  ::)

I would do TB  . . willingly  . . . but as said in the last line of my original post ,  my chances of sourcing the pics , then

shrinking & loading them  . . .along with the required text   . . .  is ZERO . . .  actually even less than that .    I'm usless with a capital C  on a computer :-[ :-[

It's a similar  comparison with you trying to play "Jessica"  on a guitar after one lesson  ::) ::) . . .yes I'm that US ;D ;D

Can you tell, for example, by the pics of wheels I put up in the Wycombe meet, what actual model of Omega they come from originally :o
Well out of my league.....but if anyone wants the pics, I'll mail them to you :y

Got a feeling Ian took a load of wheel shots...not sure if at Oxford or Wycombe a while back :)

Yes .  .most of them   . . .   although some of those pics you posted  are non standard VX wheels  ;)

Talking VX only here  ;)    also  no FL  CDX wheel in your pics though  ;)

Nice one.  :y

I asked Terbert to avoid taking a photo of the only wheel on my car with dodgy lacquer and what does he do, takes a photo of that wheel.  ::)  ;D How cruel of you Terbs.  ;D
I'll have to get it refurbed now.  :'(

Sure no problem... Not 100% but isn't that PFL wheel off a CDX  :-\

;D ;D My dear Alan...I am sure these clever devils will do a bit of photoshopping to make the wheel look top dollar if they need the pic :y
Its a good idea, though. But when Al asked me earlier, I had to admit I could not tell one wheel from another. As long as there was one on each corner, I was satisfied
