Been having a lot of problems with my Omega recently. I've really loved this 2.6 and its 2.5 predecessor, but sooner or later, I need to think about something newer.

I've been toying with the idea of a used XF as I really like the styling. Does anyone on here own one?

He is very pleased with it, close to 50mpg. It's the later facelifted one, the interior is very, very nice. Love the pop up dial gear shift. It's shifts too, no problem keeping up with things. Very refined, but you would expect so being a much newer design.

I'd love one, but don't have £30k spare.

What size engine? Diesel presumably?

Yeah. 2.2 diesel, Portfolio spec so full of toys.

DIY service no longer an option, as I no longer live at home or can return regularly. He has been very impressed with dealer service. He can view the work needed online, the dealer will film his exact car, explain and show the work needed. He can then approve it online.

Had an XF saloon, the 2.7.  My only beef was they brought out the far superior 3.0 a year later, I mean WTF...?

An excellent motor but be wary of servicing costs....

When are peoples going to realise, there's only one XF, its built,in Holland and assembled in Preston and made by DAF

My boss has a 2.2d 163bhp, its fine for everything you'd want day to day, but won't be setting your world on fire.

Interior is really nice, as you'd expect, he had a problem with water ingress in the boot. He had it fixed on warranty, bill was a shocker as Jag specified a new carpet, battery and rear loom  . However, fixing it yourself wouldn't have cost anything like that much lol.

In terms of other knowledge...
The XF was face-lifted in 2011, main visual change was the nose, but the important change was the move from 6 speed to 8 speed ZF transmission, supposedly gives a better ride and about 10% better fuel economy on any like for like engine.

Some folks reckon that the seats in the PFL are uncomfortable due to a lack of lumbar support and a bar that runs across the bottom of the seat back. Guess you'd have to try it and see if you notice it. 3.0v6 petrols are the unloved choice in the engine range and offer good value if you can live with c28mpg, or have a very competent lpg installer who can set one up properly. From what I've read, I understand they're a bit of a pig to do.

I was looking at getting one before the Skoda, what baffled me was the tax - some were in the £265 bracket i.e. 2.7L, then the newer 3.0L at £490 and some 3.0L £225?

Yeah, seen that wonder if the difference between the two 3.0L diesels is a little emissions cheat emissions tweek???
