As some on here know, the
clever shit lad passed his driving test yesterday

He has had his own car and own insurance policy for that car since day one which is about 9 1/2 months ago now.
Under the rules of that policy, if he passes his test after the 10 month mark, he is entitled to 1 years NCB

Also, under the terms of the policy, he has to cancel it when he receives his new (full) licence.
Right, yesterday, he sent his provisional licence off to DVSA

Also reading the back of the certificate he received, it clearly states that it is NOT a licence.
Okay, am I right in thinking that until he receives the full licence back, he affectively has No licence ?
Also am I right in thinking that since he hasn't received his full licence, he is under no obligation to cancel the old insurance policy until he receives the new licence ?
If that's so and we can hang the bag out for 2 weeks then in theory, he should be entitled to a full 1 years (30%) NCB when he insures the car again ?
Advise off the plod on here or those in the know most welcome
