Have you ever thought it might be your eyes? I can see fine with my standard bulbs.  ::)

Newer car, newer headlight design most likely squeezing as much light as possible out of the crappy halogen bulbs...or maybe its the glow from the radioactive snot green giving you such great luminosity ;D ;D

Yep...the lights on his 1.4L Astra are probably crap.

It's the whole snot green luminosity as he drives down the road that fools the old boy. ;D ;D ;D
When was the last time a young girlie got chatting to you about your star silver;D

My car is finished in a fetching shade of pomegranate red. I wouldn't be seen dead in a star silver Omega. ::) ::) ::) ;D

They are the same as any other 7" sealed beam - about as good as many modern designs that need a fancy bulb to make up for the inadequately sized reflector. And if you upgrade the sealed beam units with H4 bulbs they get better still. My sister's 1300 has Range Rover lamps fitted after a friend changed to some tacky looking things.

My vision is excellent thank you.

When I get to your age this may no longer be true. :)

Just ask Al. He describes Vectra/Signum lights as 'shockingly bad'.
Why do you need floodlights to navigate then?  :P

^^^ This

Might be time for a trip to Specsavers  :y ;D

The reason "older" people moan about there headlights being poor is that there night-vision is going, so there eyes need to allow more light in, to compensate for the deterioration of night vision.

Yes....I hear they are 'brilliant'  :y

My understanding is that if I use an HID kit, the lights will be compromised because the reflectors are designed for halogen bulbs.

Having said that the Vectra C boys take this option and most seem happy with the result.

Anything has to be better than what I currently have.
