Defender for 10 is really rather good.
:y.  Same as MS SE on Win 7, only that needs to be manually installed in the first place.

UAC just boils my piss, so I have it well and truly OFF.  I run as Admin
UAC does, even for properly experienced users, highlight when a program is doing something that it most likely shouldn't. Hence, I would ALWAYS recommend it stays on at least default settings. If doing certain tasks, I'd suggest knocking it up (not required on Vista, where its default is probably a bit too intrusive for day to day running).

twits on the other-hand, well, install 10 of them to run side-by-side.  That's what they do anyway!  >:(
