Just under 15 years ago builders were being ordered off the sites they were working on due to eastern Europeans walking on site and offering to do their jobs for half the money they were being paid. I personally know several builders who this happened to.
These people left the trade, and retrained to do other jobs. It makes them extremely happy to hear contractors crying and whinging about the problem of a skills shortage in the building trade.   ;) :)

Not only that but every recession loses tradespeople as they seek work in other areas and not many come back. I know several bricklayers that haven`t come back into the trade since the last recession.

There are lots of Eastern European dry liners and plasterers that are good but not many good bricklayers  and there is a real shortage of them and there are very few good enough to train the next generation thanks to going from apprentice trained City and Guilds to the NVQ system that doesn`t really have a proper apprentice scheme.

Paging Rods2. Can he come to the forum please. ;D

So having lit the blue touch paper and gone off for a bit more recovery, what is your take?

1. Liebour with their uncontrolled immigration have irreversibly changed the demographics of this country and not for the better.

2. While we are in the EU we won't have control of our own borders or who comes here.

3. Our economic success and high wages compared to most countries in the world, especially Europe, means that the UK will continue to attract migration like moths round a lamp, but the majority here will continue to suffer wage deflation as each wave of immigrants will out bid in a dutch auction the skilled and semi-skilled working class for their work and jobs.

4. Our Ponzi benefits system means that the politicians will continue to allow high levels of immigration. Conservatives will tend to vet for the high value skilled where there are job vacancies, Liebour will take anybody, the lower the skills the better as they add to their voting pool.

5. Where contraception has been too successful and while the British are only having about 1.3 children per-couple, they will essentially along with other Christians be the minority in the UK by 2030-40.

6. Sometime between 2040 and 2060 the Muslim population will be the UK's biggest group and will elect their first government, only law will be Sharia, women must wear burkas, alcohol banned, music banned, pork banned, TV's will be for religious programs and propaganda (at which point the white British will notice as no equivalent of X Factor or Strictly on a Saturday), all religions apart from Islam banned, any non-Muslims, must convert, or become slaves and will be over time ethnically cleansed.

7. By 2070 we will be a secular state run by an Islamic dictatorship.

8. Welcome to the United Kingdom of Iran.

They told me that too. I'm 46 this year, and my opinion is reinforced almost every time I meet a child person ;D

I hate to be another harbinger of doom but I'd essentially agree with that .

Is anyone really stupid enough to think that existing British Muslims are a group religiously/politically/culturally/economically coherent enough to elect an effective government? It's no more likely than Corbyn and Cameron's supporters joining arms and skipping down the lane into the sunset.
