front drivers seat belt

hi guys,

was wondering my drivers seat belt wont retract its self have to feed it back manually.

is this an mot failure and is it an easy fix? >:(

As far as I know as long as the seat belt is un damaged and the restriction works under a quick tug, then Mot wise it should be ok.

Sound like the grease / oil around the ball bearing are starting to become sticky, this can get worse at low temps this time of year, you could try a complete belt pull out and back a few times, and or with a hair drying heating up the main mech whilst your doing that, but to be honest whilst your stripping the covers off you might as well replace with a known good one.
