« on: 10 April 2016, 14:43:07 »

Any recommended part supplier for a new engine rad please for a 2.6  :-\ Looks like the housing has cracked bottom offside corner . Been losing coolant gradually for a while now but noticed the puddle is getting bigger  :(

Screw in thinymabob sensors that need transferring from the old rad to the new , do they need any kind of sealant on the thread and if so what sealant please  :-\

None required...

That said, you might as well fit new whilst you can get at them :y

I've always swapped existing sensors between radiators when I've fitted new rads - done a few now, and never any issues.

Personally I just re-use washer, but add a couple of turns of PTFE tape around the sensor threads.

I was thinking that too  :y I know one of the sensors is the fan switch but what is the other one , or is there another one :-\ Been a while since i took one off .

Other one is aircon/fan related :y

I only suggested new sensors due to ease of access, but if working well and not furred up then reuse away... if you were going belts and braces then you could also fit a new condensor, as changing that is basically a radiator out job ;)
