I was hoping that "deviator"s comment regarding low battery would apply to me, as I had a near-flat battery just befor seeing this message, but no such luck - fully charged now and still the message!
I've not been able to get under and look yet, and despite that helpful photo I have no idea what to look for anyway.
How serious a problem is it? Does it simply mean that the headlights will be aiming low but I can live with it until MOT time (September) or do I need to take immediate action? I've not had the chance to try the headlights in the dark yet.

If it doesn't look like the picture, the issue will be obvious :y

In order of likelihood, front sensor (as per pic above, and both lights are low), either servo motor (tends to show as one light very low, other stuck at a set height), rear sensor (both lights low).

Or in my case on the old Estate, a break in the loom under front wing  ;)
Where it rubbed on liner? Seen that a couple of times, but rare. Seen loom failures near front sensor as well.

No Jaime.  Was about half way along front wing.

If you want a run down to 'Saffed on Sat or Sun   Ron   . .  I'll make you a cuppa & try & sort it for you.

I have no spare sensors though :'( :'(

Just out of interest, have you had the car on a jack recently  . . . as if the little connecting rods are seized they

can pop off when car is jacked  ;)

Hi Al. I would like to take you up on that generous offer, please.
It hasn't been jacked, but the roads around here 9as everywhere else!) are in an appalling, third-world type state, so maybe?
PM me your address and when would be best for you and I'll come running!

Thanks,
Ron.

Firstly, my heartfelt thanks to Essex Big Al for his kind offer of help - most welcome.
My thanks also to "Deviator" for suggesting the battery as the culprit. As I said earlier, I did have a discharged battery prior to getting this check message, but charged it via a 13.8 volt power supply and that clearly wasn't good enough. Still hoping for a miracle, I charged the battery via a Bulk/Maintaining heavy duty charger last night, and the miracle happened - NO check messages!
Oof rescued me again; thanks gents.
