CCR2006 CD Magazine
« on: 08 June 2016, 16:37:28 »

So I popped out the CD magazine this afternoon to put some fresh CDs in and now it won't go back in.  :(  Well it goes in but dosn't engage with the stereo so just pops out again.  ::)

A quick search on here was inconclusive and given that I can hear V8S swearing at his stereo from here, I don't fancy trying to remove it.  ::)   ;D

Is it time to scrap the car?  :-\  :D

Let me know if you need any bits off my stereo.

I don't think it's really in saleable condition now.

Unless I can get the front fascia from a knackered one, and a new cage.

This happens all the time with mine.

First make sure you have the code !  Remove the whole unit, just slide out so that there is no power. Wait a while. put it all back and enter code. This doesn't work absolutely every time, and I don't know the reason for all this. I've actually removed the retaining brackets from the sides of the unit so I can slide it out and back in quite easilly. I very much doubt that anyone is going to nick it    ;D

Thanks Rog.  I'll have to beg, borrow or steal the key thingies from someone/somewhere then.  :y

The key thingies are a pain inthe A***, they really are, but if you take the time and trouble to make your own it's worth it as they work. I have a pic somewhere of the ones I made, I just need to find it on my drive.

My advice. Go to Halfords or eBay or wherever. Buy a pair of the ones that don't work, they will have kind of diamond shaped heads. With a miniature file change these to arrow shaped heads, possibly chop 'em off and start from scratch. Hard to explain.

No. I bought some cheapo ones and filed them into shape.

I disconnected my battery this morning after Rog said that he unplugs his stereo from time to time and it worked fine when reconnected!  :y

The old switch it off and on trick works every time!!  ;D

Thanks Rog!  :y
