2.5TD cooling fan always on, relay or switch?
« on: 16 June 2016, 14:37:15 »

Hiya,

The cooling fan on my 2.5TD is constantly on. Auto Elite model.

Question.

How do I tell if it is the sensor next to the radiator or the K51 relay in the under bonnet fuse box.

If I disconnect the sensor it stops, plug it back in and starts again.

Any tips?

Thanks

Alex

That is highly suggestive that the sensor has failed.
What does a continuity check reveal?
Although given the symptoms and likely cost/easy availability of a new one, no one can argue against just replacing it

OK thanks very much.

I can get another one for £10 so seems ok.

Thanks
