Increase temperature when idling in traffic
« on: 04 September 2016, 19:21:00 »

Hi I have noticed that my temperature increases to around 90c when at traffic lights or when driving slowly, is this normal or do you think this could be a faulty water pump or something. Thanks.

Are all the fans working as expected? Does the aircon work?

If you switch the climate panel from LO to Off, does the fan ahead of the radiator stop?

I'll try tomorrow see if it does. I also noticed red stuff around one of the hoses I'm presuming this is antifreeze could these be a leak causing the issue? Thanks

If it's coolant then it won't be helping, but might be powersteering fluid... depends which hose... a picture paints a thousand words etc ;)

Had a broken hose clamp replaced this and also serpentine belt was knackered so changed this too seems to have solved the issue. Fan does go off when turning from lo.
