Thought it was a winter thing?  Ive had my worst ever case of it for the last few days. Banging headache, everything hurts from head to toe. Freezing cold one minute, sweating like a pig the next. And weak as a kitten. Most inconvenient, as I have a lot of things I need to do. ::)
Told swmbo last night that I fear the end might be near. She laughed so hard she was nearly sick.  :(   :D

That's not man flu! It's the real, viral flu infection that makes whoever gets it feel like that have already died, and not noticed it, for over a week. Take some paracetamol, mix a couple of your favourite hot toddies and go to bed until you feel noticeably better. Then mooch about the house moaning until you infect the other occupants so they can experience the full ghastliness of it. Hopefully, they'll get the diarrhoea that you've avoided. A mutation of it is what killed more people than WW1 in the years afterwards.

Man flu is like PMT; you get it, they suffer from the effects.

There is a lot of sneering, especially from women, when the term "man flu" is used, but it IS real and true that men suffer disproportionately from the ailment:-

And also:-

I'm not sure how scientific the curry-and-beer treatment is, but it surely will make you FEEL better!
I can, however, vouch for the efficacy of the big sweat, as outlined by others above; quite unpleasant to sleep in a pool of your own sweat, but a day or two will have you revitalised.

A few years ago I got "festival flu". So, what's that ? . . . .

We all know about music festivals, Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight, Leeds/Reading, Download etc

Take about 100,000+ or so people. Cram them into a fairly small space, oh they haven't washed, showered, shat or shaved for a few days . . . . and then throw a flu virus or so in.

I once heard it described as "deep throating razor blades". I'll go with that, plus two weeks feeling like S***t

Man Flu ? . . . . . lightweights. I stopped going to festivals.

Your lady wouldn't be laughing so much if she contracted "man flu" it's a medical fact that in the female of the species it is fatal in 98.4 in of all cases!!!  ;)
