Car Insurance
« on: 05 October 2016, 11:10:40 »

So I've been doing the insurance this morning for my BMW.  ::)

The renewal from LV was £315.  The cheapest the comparison sites came up with was £265 from Go Compare with Privilege.  Tried Aviva, £644!  :o

Then Direct Line £245. Better, so I was about to hit the buy button, then thought Cashback!, so went to TopCashBack, and got a quote from Hastings who were giving £55 cashback, but the quote was £380! Bah!  >:(  Back to Direct Line, via cashback and got the same quote with £26 cashback.

So I'll end up paying £219!  :y

Renewed mine this morning, it was around 50 quid cheaper than last year, Fully Comp, £520 for Any Car, up to 7.5K limit on any claim though.

£289 for the Jag. :-\

The insurers must think I'm a 17 year old with a Veyron.

I was hoping for sub £200.

15k miles a year and commuter pack means mine is high, £600 for the VW. However it was £480 odd for the 2.2 Omega, so given the difference in value, not a massive increase.

It'll be just fine on a set of 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 Wanli Ditchfinders.

Well now, I wish I had all those prices! Being my first car, having got my licence in March, my insurance was £1500!

Ouch! ???

Makes my quote of almost £1100 for four cars seem reasonable(ish)

Ouch.

VW has 18" wheels with michelin pilot sport 4's, a pair would less than £300. Not sure what tyres he is getting at £250+ a pop  :o

Kwik Fit mobile will come to the house.

Using crappy Dunlop Sportmaxx as an example..... £197 for the rear and £161 for the front.

£716.
Unfortunately I can't get the far superior Goodyear F1  to fit the rear. :-\

At full RRP probably yes.

Shop around probably a lot less.
