Juvenile rantings are normal for doctors of any age mate  ;D ;D

 ;) Actually, I did consider a period of post-doctoral iuvenilis! ;D

I quite enjoy the superficiality of Facebook; yes, it`s shallow, but for 'keeping in touch' with distant relations/contacts without having to write at length: it has it`s uses.
I don`t use the silly, Facebook 'applications': just use private group features of 'What or how I`m/they`re doing' and 'picture albums'

Skype (or any VoIP) is a total 'no-brainer': whom wants to have to pay for international `phone calls? ;)

I agree. Just have to rid of the applications and ruddy zombies that seem to dominate my facebook!

Have tried to explain that I do not want zombies, werewolves, or killer scarecrows... but peps do it all the more  ;D ;D

I used it at first to join the Company's group, to get in the click so to speak, soon met up with a load of old friends,

My biggest use is sharing pics and video's from the social side of work with abusing the internal systems,

PS feel free to add me :p

my facebook is pretty much just a basic online profile about me, some pics of me and interests, friends, stuff like that

none of the bull**** applications, and no direct contact info, just there so i can keep in touch with people!

must admit, boosted social life a bit cos it automatically shows up events and stuff that i might have missed out on

Never used Facebook -- never want to, get international phone calls free with my provider anyway, so Skype is out.

I use my mobile for -- you guessed it -- making and receiving phone calls .... and it took me years to conceed to that !!

In short, I am a social outcast  :-[

Lizzie --- your Uni course .... do you specialise in any particular area of history ?
