H Ian,

Long time no see! I trust you are well?

I normally prise the rubber seals off the bearing, clean them out and lube with a little grease whenever I find them feeling a bit dry. Haven't had to change one yet.. or is it too far gone for that? IIRC it was never an expensive part genuine, as long as you only buy the pulley and not the whole spring tensioner assembly.

IIRC, the pulley (only) was about £20 from dealer. Pricey, but not bank breaking. Not sure where to source one otherwise. If going pattern, I think I'd get a branded one, as we've seen a fair few failures can cause cambelts to let go.

Belt is available from most factors, but many of the pattern part lookup info always show same length for all V6s, and some are 10mm longer.  From memory, some are 1610mm, some are 1620mm.  Again, personally, I go from what I'd class as a quality brand, based on what can happen when it goes...

I'd go for a 'walk in to Dealer' Pulley all day long, Ive seen a couple of cheepo types go in less than 5k miles.

I thought the aux belt was 2100x6 same as a sprinter.
2100 being the length
6 being the number of ribs.

Gates 6PK2020 on mine. That's 6 ribs, and 2020mm long; a simple part number because it's a standard Lego type part available from any factor, bearing, transmission, machinery supplier, corner shop**, etc in the country. The pulley is a similar part, only a motor factor will want to match it to your car, everybody else will just look up the dimensions as it could have been used on all sorts of one-off machinery. For the pulley I would expect enough change from a tenner to buy a decent coffee.

**OK, corner shop might be a slight exaggeration

Great thanks Kevin.   Mig still going strong touch wood.

I have regreased the pulley in the past but this one is too far gone.

I got the belt from ECP that biggriffin quoted no problem, after a false start with a Conti belt that came up as 'recomended' but was for a car without aircon ::).  Bit daft as they knew it was an Elite from the reg..

Pulley is £41 trade from Eden Vaux.  Much steeper than I expected so still looking.
