. . . . . . . . Personally I think the service I received was fantastic, totally the opposite to most stories you hear.
NHS bashing has become a bit of a national passtime. I still think it's one of the best health services in the World.
The main problems are related to adminstration, and without doubt the NHS is incredibly wasteful. Sometime jawdroppingly wasteful. The biggest problem in recent years has
not been "cuts" but the increase in demand, AND quite a few bad and overpaid senior managers. Lets not forget PFI, the zillions paid every year due to bad overpaid managers failing to secure good, sensible, and fair PFI deals.
PFI was not exclusively down to Labour, but I always recall a certain G Brown crowing on TV about how the government had just approved funding for a new hospital, what he'd actually done was given approval for another crap PFI deal to build a new hospital.
