And had I been in Call me Dave( No balls) shoes I would have invoked Article 50 at 5 pm BST on the day the result was declared.

Why would you have waited so long as that?   :-\                                   :)

Be 6pm in Brussels...

... on a Friday evening ;)

The Commeuronists would never see it coming.

You'd have missed the last post so the Commeuronists wouldn't have seen it until Tuesday at the earliest...  ::)  :P  ;D

You'd have sat round twiddling your thumbs until your A50 letter turned up in the post, as there's no negotiation until A50 is delivered remember?  ::)

Bet you'd have sent it 2nd class as well!  ;D

"The formal withdrawal process is initiated by a notification from the Member Statewishing to withdraw to the European Council, declaring its intention to do so.The timing of this notification is entirely in the hand of the Member State concerned, and informal discussions could take place between it and other Member States and/or EU institutions prior to the notification."

I reckon a group text would suffice ;)

Camoron probably did send the A50 letter on the morning of Friday 24th June,  but as a very important missive he sent it by carrier pigeon. ::)

As he was somewhat upset and confused that morning he mistakingly took the bird from the 'Moscow Box' rather than the 'Brussels Box' and Putin had pigeon pie that evening for his tea!  ;D

Christ on a bike...

You're both losing your touch... it's taken two days to get to this position ;D

If I could have voted for Trump, I would have. I wouldn't be adverse to accepting an American passport and residency in exchange for a similar vote for a second term either... (if anyone in a position to effect such things is reading ;)...).

And had I been in Call me Dave( No balls) shoes I would have invoked Article 50 at 5 pm BST on the day the result was declared.
Bit of tongue biting on my part, but nowt like being told what to think to get the juices going. :y

STEMO I have NEVER told you what to think. I was expressing my point of view based on education, knowledge, and experience. I NEVER expect everyone, or even anyone to agree with me. But I will enter into a debate as this is still (just) a free country.

Sorry if you feel the way you do, but after being away from the Forum for some time I now recognise how some get so wound up about a bit of keyboard comment. Live and let live eh STEMO? :-* :-* :-* ;)

PS You once had a great witty sense of Liverpudian humour.  Don't say this Forum has zapped it?!! :o :o :o :o ;D ;D ;)

Now we have the latest Tweet from this sickening joke of a President.

He reckons Obama tapped his phone lines. Really!!!

He lives in the USA with a very powerful CIA who tap into everyone's communications ;D ;D ;D

The US NSA and UK GCHQ both have strict rules on who and how their internal 'citizens of interest' can be spied on in detail, which require court orders. However, all normal SIGINT is considered to be in the 'public domain' for the purposes of who is calling who and the scanning for keywords of interest. SIGINT is the most powerful tool the 5-eyes Western intelligence system has to keep us safe from terrorists which includes the recently announced 13 terrorist attacks stopped in the UK since 2013. Obviously people of interest will include embassies and diplomats within the US and UK, but this applies to ALL countries in the world where ALL governments spy on ALL governments. Any mock outrage you hear from any government, like the Germans a few years ago, is just 'pots and kettles'. ;D ;D ;D

Authoritarian governments don't have the checks and balances that Western Governments do, whether different people agree or disagree with the line drawn by Western Governments is like all politics, matters of consensus, disagreements and opinions. ::) ::) ::)

The reality is that Trump does have authoritarian tendencies, but I'm confident that the strength of US democracy will keep him in check. It is unfortunate that of the 320m people in the US they ended up with Trump and Clinton as candidates. It says much about their weak polarized two party political system. ???

Both are crooks, Clinton with her foundation and private email server and Trump with his US and Russian mafia connections and dodgy business dealings, which includes allegations of his Atlantic City casino being used as a money laundering operation. :o

Where there is no doubt that Putin interfered in the US election, like they now are in the French and German ones, Russia has a long record of political interference in Western politics, which have been mostly unsuccessful where they overplay their hand. The way the Russian state press went large over the Trump win on a new-era of US-Russian cooperation has suddenly gone all quiet, where I don't think Russia has got what it expected from a GOP where it is 'business as usual' and an out of his depth Trump who seems to be mainly fighting his own imaginary internal demons. :o

Trump taking on the intelligence community has overtones of Tricky Dicky doing the same and that didn't end well. ::)

....and certain individuals in the CIA, MI5/MI6 will have their own corrupt agendas whilst seeking power for themselves or their bosses, but that is also worse in totalitarian regimes.

Of the course the West, and USA in particular, would never dream of interfering in the elections of other Sovereign nations.  ::) ;D

Absolutely, Obama didn't boost #Brexit by lecturing us on how the EU was best for the UK and how we would have been at the back of the queue for a US trade deal. By coincidence the #Brexit polls went up by 2% for Leave at the same time. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
