Theres a mig at the scrapyard round corner from me with 235,000 ish I think on the clock! (2.5 diesel)

The inside still looked as it should! These cars just eat up the mileage without any fuss!  ;D

I THINK it was there due to rust, as it was pritty bad looking on the outside!  :-/

I remember when I worked at a car garage, me and my boss went to look at a volvo estate (for us to buy, and then sell on)... Anyway, we walked away when we saw the speedo showing over 400,000!!!!  :o

My old 2.2DTI elite estate had 237,000 on the clock when i sold it and it's still going strong. A friend of mine has just sold his pug 406 HDI with 381,000 miles on. If you keep them well serviced they will go on and on and if you dont then they go bang ;)

Thats true to a degree I guess yes, however the 2.0dti diesel pumps have a habbit of failing around 110-135k. And the 2.2dti pumps visually look the same! (Dont know if they are). For that reason, If I got a diesel Omega, I would have to go with the BMW engine

Guess you get the odd bad ones though here and there!

My 2.5 TD is on 250K now...

It was serviced reguararly by the guy who owned it fr 10 years... then they bloke we bought it off did 5k in it without servicing or anything..
ive done 10k and really should get round to learning how to maintain cars...  (dont worry the local garage has changed the oil 3 times during that 10k)

However condition= generally quite poor... inside and out both quite tatty. I dont care though. my last car was imaculate and i hated it. This i love..   :D

I know they do cos i havea vectra sat here thats done 116,000 miles and the pump has gone that but the 2.2 DTI pumps dont seem to and the vauxhall guy thats looks aftrs my cars has only seen one 2.2 DTI with a shot pump and that was on a vectra that i'm breaking at the mo and thats only because some oil seals went and pulled oil back to the fuel tank and then got sucked back to the pump which in turn killed it.

My 2 cars dont add up to that mileage between them.

63,000 on the GLs and 84.500 on my Elite......  Flipping eck, I have managed 500 miles in 3 months, PMSL  175 of those were done yesterday to Mablethorpe and back.   Hehe  ::) ::) :-/ :y :y :y

a huge debate on my cars high mileage and its reliability.
it currently shows 156???miles but due to minor fire had to have binnacle replaced showing 196???miles.
this totals over 355000miles the cars history says it had to have complete bottom end rebuild at 84373miles.
but it still on original 6 diesel injectors.

Mileage to ME means nothing engine wise, all I care about is if it's had regular oil changes.

I hear a lot of remarks that vauxhalls over 150,000 are nearly dead, but through personal experience, they just seem to take it!

Does it still have the original engine in it?  Not doubting it as I replaced mine at 165,000 and it was an ex-rental car so had the arse ripped out of it.  To shock you more I replaced it with a 170,000 mile cavalier engine - that's how confident I am with Vauxhall engines.  If they are well maintained they can last forever...

Did you have to change much to get the cavalier lump in and working.
