I listened to Vol.4 a lot when I was 13 or 14, but then moved onto other stuff, mostly blues based..
I did like Ozzy though, as he was a real character. Unfortunately it seemed his Mrs turned him into a parody of himself about 25 years ago.
Considering he life he led, its a minor miracle that he lasted as long as he did.
RIP Ozzy.

RIP Ozzy. He was struggling during their farewell concert just that short while ago, had to sit on a throne. Paranoid was one of my first 78s.

I just looked back over the Apollo Glasgow website and realised that I saw Sabbath  in January 1972 . :o
I do remember being absolutley underwhelmed by them .......
Ozzy was another one of those celebs from way back then that seem to follow you through your life and he was much more than entertaining .
I thought his statement at the gig at Aston recently was very touching when he tearfully thanked all their fans for letting them live such a wonderful life .
Very sad that he went so soon after his swansong .
He'll be missed .

I always particularly loved his F1 start line interview with Martin Brundle

Should that be 45s, Ronny?

Yeah.....33 RPM for LP's
45 RPM for singles.

As for the 78's Ronny mentions, he must be even older than we think. 8)

I was never into their music but I do have his book " I am Ozzy " which is a really good read. What with the booze and drugs it's something of a minor miracle that he lasted as long as he did. A proper character.
