the long black bar locks the cams (fits in slots on end of cams cylider 4 end) not used if not removing the head,
the 2 red wedges lock the cam sprockets belt end
the thin pin is to lock off the tensioner (under tension)
the other pin is for locking the aux belt   tensioner (under tension)
the silver L shape bar and gold bracket  is Flywheel holding & Locking Tools

I don't have a haynes for that engine, but very simple ,I assume haynes covers it all very well (but they may call the GM "specialist"tools by numbers  ,plenty of youtube videos z16xep
