I was thinking GL... Proper van with windows rather than the dinky hatchback you have  or an imported GM product. Thinking a couple of years ahead, so a facelifted 2011 ish GL450/500 should be sensible money by then... especially as it will be bought with cash.

Nice enough car in a sterile unemotional sort of way. Quite quick initially but breathless above 70 MPH.

The ideal car for people who have no interest in cars other than getting from A to B.
