How does SWMBO stay 6'/2m away from a customer when receiving money/giving change?

And how do I stay away from the bloke I'm working with?

We are a bit slow on the uptake . Spanish supermarkets now are only taking card payments from the one family member shopping.

I'd be very surprised if His Lordship doesn't have a nubile throne maid in each of his bathrooms.
FTFY Uncle Stemo
What's a throne maid?  ;D
Bit like a chamber maid
The "Throne" is what we call the shitter ,loo, toilet
maid ,a servant to attend to the needs of seated gentry

Just received this from a friend:

DIRECTIONS
St George’s Hospital London

Virus Detection:
The simplest way to distinguish Coronavirus from a Common Cold is that the COVID-19 infection does not cause a cold nose or cough with cold, but it does create a dry and rough cough.
The virus is typically first installed in the throat causing inflammation and a feeling of dryness. This symptom can last between 3 and 4 days.
The virus typically then travels through the moisture present in the airways, goes down to the trachea and installs in the lungs, causing pneumonia that lasts about 5 or 6 days.
Pneumonia manifests with a high fever and difficulty breathing. The Common Cold is not
accompanied, but there may be a choking sensation. In this case, the doctor should be called immediately.
Experts suggest doing this simple verification every morning: Breathe in deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds.  If this can be done without coughing, without difficulty, this shows that there is no fibrosis in the lungs, indicating the absence of infection.  It is recommended to do this control every morning to help detect infection.

Prevention:
The virus hates heat and dies if it is exposed to temperatures greater than 80°F (27°C). Therefore hot drinks such as infusions, broths or simply hot water should be consumed abundantly during the day.  These hot liquids kill the virus and are easy to ingest.
Avoid drinking ice water or drinks with ice cubes. Ensure that your mouth and throat are always wet, never DRY. You should drink a sip of water at least every 15 minutes. WHY?  Even when the virus enters water or other liquids through the mouth, it will get flushed through the oesophagus directly into the stomach where gastric acids destroy the virus. If there is not enough water, the virus can pass into the trachea and from there to the lungs, where it is very dangerous.
For those who can, sunbathe. The Sun's UV rays kill the virus and the vitamin D is good for you. The Coronavirus has a large size (diameter of 400-500 nanometers) so face masks can stop it, no special face masks are needed in daily life.
If an infected person sneezes near us, stay 10 feet (3.3 meters) away to allow the virus fall to the ground and prevent it from falling on you.
When the virus is on hard surfaces, it survives about 12 hours, therefore when hard surfaces such as doors, appliances, railings, etc. are touched, hands should be washed thoroughly and/or disinfected with alcoholic gel
The virus can live nested in clothes and tissues between 6 and 12 hours. Common detergents can kill it. Things that cannot be washed should be exposed to the Sun and the virus will die.
The transmission of the virus usually occurs by direct infection, touching fabrics, tissues or materials on which the virus is present.
Washing your hands is essential. The virus survives on our hands for only about 10 minutes. In that time many things can happen, rubbing the eyes, touching the nose or lips. This allows the virus to enter your throat. Therefore, for your good and the good of all, wash your hands very often and disinfect them.
You can gargle with disinfectant solutions (i.e. Listerine or Hydrogen Peroxide) that eliminate or minimize the amount of virus that can enter the throat. Doing so removes the virus before it goes down to the trachea and then to the lungs.
Disinfect things touched often: cellphone, keyboard, mouse, car steering wheel, door handles, etc

I really must apologise for posting this without checking the facts, I feel like a fool. Please ignore the advice above, it appears to be (mostly) rubbish. It came from someone I trust, and probably the same for them.
Sorry  :-[

Don’t beat yourself up. There is loads of stuff like this around.

A nurse in the hospital two weeks ago gave me some good advice. Have a look at the official nhs site for accurate info. At the time I had concerns over delirium versus dementia in my dad.

Just got back in from walking the dog, although I've never done a traffic survey it seems there was the usual amount of traffic on the go.Only saw two other people on foot one seemed to have been to the local shop and the other was a jogger.Nearest any of us got to anyone else was at least 50ft,not because of distancing guidelines but simply because that's the way it worked out.

Macdonalds closing from tomorrow.

I feel for the staff & owners but I think I've used them a dozen times ever ..... apart from when the kids used to have birthday parties there  ;)

I'd have though they'd have been able to keep the drive thru' open  :-\ :-\
I believe that was the plan :-\ I suspect that there will now not be anywhere to grab a sandwich or coffee at work :-\

I believe that was the plan :-\ I suspect that there will now not be anywhere to grab a sandwich or coffee at work :-\

Seems like all drive-thrus are closing - Costa, McDonalds, etc etc.. as you say, soon the only option will be home cooked food or home cooked food (or starve), regardless of where you are.

Will be making one last trip to the Costa drive-thru before it closes tonight ;D other than that, nothing really changes; we'll go out to the supermarket when we need food (because there's no alternative), potter about the house until we run out of things to clean/tidy/trim/etc, work from home during the week (which I already did). Nothing will change even when/if the Army are deployed (do we still have an army? Presumably they'll have to call all the Terries in as well) to keep us all in our homes, because we'll still need to eat (which means going to the supermarket, unless the Army will also be delivering rations).

Suppose we could just do what China do (which I keep seeing people shouting about as being the answer to everything on arsebook) - shoot/disappear the infected.. I'm guessing those suggesting it wouldn't like it much when their parents/grandparents "disappeared" ::)

While I'm ranting - this whole thing just seems to be another excuse for people to call anyone who disagrees with their personal point of view a retard/idiot/dick/etc; just like Brexit it's "If you don't agree with me then you don't deserve to exist!"

Christ, people are annoying.

Hmmmmm........social isolation might continue even after the virus has disappeared.

When things settle down, you'll have twice as much money as you had previously. Unfortunately, a 99p cheeseburger will be £1.99.

(For those who don't follow the news - in 2010, 1BTC was $0.08, in 2020 it was .. well, all over the shop, but several thousand dollars)
(For those who live in a cave, bitcoin is a kind of currency, like the pound, dollar etc. ;D)
