Another 119 dead pennies today. Never mind, eh?

You do know that that each penny represents 1 million people.....not one person. ::)
No? Silly me  ;D
It's a load of crap, Opti. Although it's almost impossible to put a figure on the amount of lives saved by various governments actions, just a few thousand would be enough for me to say they were right.
But, in this world where people have nothing better to do than bleat about their rights, mental health, inconvenience, etc, I suppose it looks clever.
It seems to me you have to lose a couple of family members before it sinks in that people actually matter.

Yo can't say that in 2021.....or 'all lives matter'.... ;) ;D
Childish nonsense on top of childish nonsense. You need something meaningful to occupy your time  :)

At risk of sounding like a cliché, death is a fact of life. And whilst we might hope that it's in bed with a pair of twenty something twins or in our sleep with the family gathered, the reality is that sometimes it's being hit by a bus or at 42 on the toilet. Eating a burger.

The world could do with losing a billion people or two, but society is too far up its own arse to accept that might mean them rather than some Chinese or Africans.

It's not a cliché, it's just a crock of shite.

If we spent less time panicking about TCV, then perhaps we could get back to actually looking after the people who have been sidelined by the madness.

90,000 people are essentially holding the whole world to ransom.

you still don't get it do you ?

the more the Virus spreads ,the more hospital beds are taken up

or are you saying anyone ill with Covid doesn't deserve a hospital bed ?

what's the plan ? put all the covid patients in a field ?  ::)

The only time these people will change their tune is when a close one dies. Let's see them put that down to a cliché.

Would it help?

Treating them in dedicated TCV centres would be a start. Those Nightingale hospitals are somewhat under utilised.

Most of those in hospital with TCV are either unvaccinated or in hospital for non TCV reasons and just happen to have tested positive :-X

I held our last two dogs as they were put down and was the last person to speak to my Dad before he died, so don't assume that I have no concept of loss.

And I am sure as hell not scared of ifs, buts and maybes let alone waste time worrying about them.

As for being furloughed, I have never claimed anything previously, having worked (and contributed) continuously since the day after I left school, and am still paying tax and NI on it which is more than most people on benefits :-X

I would wager more people are still furloughed or otherwise underemployed in the UK than have died from TCV in Europe. In fact, there's between 1.1 and 1.6 million people still furloughed, which makes me fairly insignificant in the scheme of things.

Not at all, my being furloughed makes about as much difference to anything as Dave hiding under the mattress.
