Nope but we all use this site a lot so its nice to clear the air. And while i stand by out decision to leave i probably owe loo knee an apology for not explaining at the time even if we did book seperately

James, i would have turned and left also,, and regardless of why the cones were there nobody should be spoken to in the way you have described especially after apologising

My 2 p's worth .... methinks you may not appreciate my views.. :(

If I was running a business and I coned off an area I would NOT expect someone to just turn up and move the cones .. without the decency of checking in and/or asking why the cones were there.

Had it been me the comment "they are there for a reason" - actually totally correct .. they were ... would have been a far stronger "What the B**** H*** do you think you are doing ?"

We were there 48 hours .. they have a business to run 365 days a year and don't need folks ignoring their wishes then driving through a wet field at high speed. Don't say you were not speeding .. you drove straight past me !!!

As a regular "pikey wagon" user I have learned to respect 2 things .... wet grass and the presence of children - your speed did nothing for either.

Sorry for being blunt .. but in this case I think you were in the wrong.

Just my opinion .. nothing else.

For the most Nige, I think you are right, actually. And, for the parts where I may have been in the wrong, I will accept responsibility and apologise. You've made some valid points which I'll take on board.

That said -

I agree with your comments (and indeed her comments!) They are there for a reason. But - I wasn't trying to enter the field, I was trying to get back to reception, hence I thought it better to drive through the cones, rather than turn around and drive on her field again :y

my comments are not aimed at the situation, more the person.

The lady in question is somewhat 'sharp' in her style of conversation, she clips her words and is quick to retort, this would be easily confused with someone being curt, and with a raised tone could easily create a negative impression by the recipient......

shame you chose to leave, despite the weather it was a good one

I wasnt gonna reply to this thread.....but decided to add my view....

I think there were faults on both sides.....

I agree with Entwoods post.......but have to add i think there were a slight probs with the site owners side.....

So my comment.....

I think the site owners were under quite a bit of stress of fitting us all in.........and trying not to churn up the camping site......but what i couldnt understand was why block off the exit point in the field......but not block off the entry point?

Presumbly if the entry point had of been blocked off as well then James wouldnt have entered the field to start with ??

And after seeing management.......would have been allowed into the field to unload then asked to move his omega onto tarmac.....as everyone had been asked to do

So yes i agree with James........with moving his Omega out of the nearest exit point.......wouldnt have happened if the entry point was blocked as well i dont think.........tho should have stopped at entrance booking in point to start with.......i did......wasnt hard to see the sign...but mistakes happen.....

I did see the speed you left the site James......as Entwoods comments.....totally uncalled for even tho you were pee'd off

So i think it was probably site management/James fault........50/50 split.......in my opinion

Thank goodness site management didnt see what a certain oofer did when entering the field when he arrived........dont think a power slide would have been appreciated  ::) ;D

I hope i've been around long enough now to say that Yes, James can be a little "vocal" when something rattles his cage as can i as i've displayed more than once!!! However i ask you all to cast your mind back just a few nights to a certain "Squaddie" post where James was the voice of reason & calmed things (me) down when feelings were running high to say the least. Not dwelling on that particular post but the point is he kept a clear head.
I was'nt at Newent so can't comment, just want to redress the balance. Guy. :)
