The thing that will affect Putin most is that Russia has been removed from the Eurovision song contest , I believe he was a very big fan..😂
Today Poland have refused to play Russia in their World Cup qualifier so it will be interesting to see how FIFA respond.
They should of course swiftly kick Russia out of the competition, but....
And very importantly the usually pro-Russian Hungarian President has agreed to support UN sanctions against his friend. Also Turkey, whilst trying to broker a ceasefire, is talking of blocking the movement of Russian warships through to the Black Sea.
Another sign that things may be starting to go politically wrong for Putin, is not only global public opinion against him personally, but also fast growing protests in Russia itself. Obviously to protest in Russia is dangerous, but news is spreading fast amongst Russians, many who have family and friends in Ukraine, about exactly what Putin is doing which apparently is going down badly.
Now the Russians may be under the gosh of Putin and his cronies, but they do like revolutionary change. 1917 saw them get rid of a Tsar, then the fall of the Soviet Union was from within as that regime imploded. Putin is now pushing his luck, and will increasingly do so everyday that his invasion is slowed down, publicly spoken about, and as the Russian military losses become widespread knowledge. The days of a completely isolated population fed only state approved news is over. The internet, mobile phones, international news broadcasts, and just person to person communication in a far more “open” world is going to have a growing effect. At least I hope so, which I trust the West’s intelligence services will play on in many ways.
